Our methodology
SpectrumThrive is built on three evidence foundations: cognitive behavioral principles adapted for autistic cognition, somatic and polyvagal-informed regulation techniques suited to autistic nervous systems, and neurodivergent-affirming approaches developed with direct input from autistic adults. We do not apply standard CBT verbatim. We recognize that many autistic adults have had CBT used against them, often to suppress natural behavior rather than support genuine wellbeing. Our tools draw on the underlying logic of cognitive and somatic work while removing the parts that require autistic people to mask, perform, or conform.
Capacity-aware design
Autistic adults do not experience consistent capacity from day to day. Energy, sensory tolerance, executive function, and social bandwidth all fluctuate, sometimes dramatically. Most wellness apps ignore this. SpectrumThrive addresses it directly with Low Capacity Mode, a one-tap setting that adjusts every tool in the platform to match a user's current state. Prompts shorten. Pacing slows. High-demand features like identity work step back. The platform meets you where you are rather than expecting you to perform wellness you do not have access to right now.
Cultural Adaptation Framework
The autism support space has a representation problem. Most resources, tools, and research are built around white, male, childhood presentations of autism. Autistic adults from Black, Latina, Asian, Indigenous, and other underrepresented communities often find that available support requires them to translate their experience through a lens that was not built with them in mind. SpectrumThrive's patent-pending Cultural Adaptation Framework addresses this by shaping AI responses to reflect each user's cultural context, communication norms, and lived identity. This is not a skin or a language setting. It is built into the underlying response architecture.
Who built this and why
Solei Williams, Founder and CEO, is a late-diagnosed autistic adult with a B.A. in Sociology, a health coaching certification, and ten years of experience as a special education professional. She built SpectrumThrive because the tools she needed did not exist. Sky Harper, Co-Founder and CTO, holds bachelor's and master's degrees in cybersecurity and built the iOS and Android app from concept to working product. Atara Systems, the parent company, is an NVIDIA Inception member, SAM.gov registered, and Maryland SBR certified.

Late-diagnosed autistic adult, B.A. Sociology, certified health coach, and 10-year special education professional. Solei founded SpectrumThrive after identifying a validated gap in the market. She independently shipped Atara Compass, a B2B AI audit platform, while building SpectrumThrive. She leads product vision, partnerships, and the internal AI infrastructure that runs Atara Systems, an NVIDIA Inception member and SAM.gov registered company.
Sky Harper
Co-Founder & CTO
Sky built the SpectrumThrive MVP from concept to working app and leads all mobile architecture and technical decisions. She shipped iOS and Android builds and holds bachelor's and master's degrees in cybersecurity. Her full-stack expertise spans React, TypeScript, Capacitor, Supabase, and Anthropic AI.
